Gary Neville watches hilarious air digs at Manchester United amid concern at Old Trafford

Manchester United were the subject of another joke on Monday night after Liverpool’s 3-3 draw at Aston Villa.

United hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons following Sunday’s defeat to Arsenal, firstly for their performance on the day and secondly for the post-match images and videos of water pouring into Old Trafford due to a problem with the roof.

Many people referred to the fact that such scenes were a fitting tribute to a club that is currently in disarray in all areas as things continue to go from bad to worse during the current campaign.

On Monday night, Sky Sports host Dave Jones shed light on the current state of the Red Devils home side as he previewed Wednesday’s game involving Erik ten Hag’s side and Newcastle United.

“This football season, it’s not over yet,” Jones began. “Because on Tuesday we have Tottenham v Manchester City at 7 o’clock, then on Wednesday…” Interrupting at this point, Gary Neville said: “Water polo” prompting laughter from Jones and Jamie Carragher.

Ending this light-hearted exchange, Jones added: “Water polo at the Theater of Streams. Manchester United taking on Newcastle.”
