Watch The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season Two Trailer as Release Date Announced

The release date for the highly anticipated second season of Amazon Prime’s Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has been revealed. In addition to the upcoming release date, the franchise has given fans a glimpse as the first trailer for the second series is now out.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere on Prime Video on Thursday, August 29, it was revealed today (May 14). Its action-packed trailer takes a look at the rise of the villain during the second age of Middle-earth.




Sauron (Charlie Vickers) disguises himself as an elf to help Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards) forge the titular rings of power. Viewers will also see familiar faces return as they prepare for battle.

Among them are Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), Elrond (Robert Aramayo), Arondir (Ismael Cruz Córdova) and Isildur (Maxim Baldry). Season two began filming in 2022 in the UK, unlike the first series which was filmed in New Zealand.

The trailer also features a character known as the Stranger (Daniel Weyman) wielding a wooden staff. During the season one finale, the character was revealed to be one of the sorcerers, known as the Istari, who later populate Middle-earth.

The official X account of the show shared the first trailer, to the delight of fans. The account read: “The darkness will bind them. The Rings Of Power returns August 29th on @PrimeVideo.”

It has already been viewed over a million times. RetailStock responded: “Put it in theaters!! Please!” Tolkienverse commented: “Can’t wait for August 29th.” PCP wrote: “BACK TO MIDDLE EARTH WE GOOOO” EliasXx said: “Looking forward to it!”

The second season of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premieres on August 29.
