The BBC’s Shiona McCallum tries out the new ChatGPT called GPT-4o

OpenAI has unveiled the latest version of ChatGPT – called GPT-4o. It is faster than previous chatbot models and has been programmed to sound conversational in its responses to requests.

It will be rolled out gradually to all ChatGPT users, including free users. OpenAI says it has tested it with external experts and will continue to mitigate risks such as bias, fairness and misinformation as they are discovered.

Our tech reporter Shiona McCallum gave it a quick road test – it may have (possibly) solved math problems at the live launch – but it has other surprising talents.
