Forwards Fest 2024 adds another act to its lineup

Electronic duo Underworld have been added to the line-up of this year’s Forwards Festival, which takes place on Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September. It will be their only Bristol performance of the year.

Joining the likes of LCD Soundsystem and Jessie Ware, Underworld will take to the stage on the second day of the festival, which also features Yard Act, Baxter Dury, CMAT, Crazy P, Holysseus Fly and Da Fuchaman and the Fire Blaze Band. Saturday is headlined by Loyle Carner.

Festival organizers have also confirmed they will soon announce a replacement for Maribou State following the cancellation of the duo’s 2024 shows. The final acts of this year’s festival will also be announced in the coming days. Tickets for Forwards, which takes place on The Downs, are now on sale on the website.

With a rich legacy spanning over three decades, Karl Hyde and Rick Smith, better known as Underworld, “constantly challenge convention and redefine electronic and dance music with their unparalleled ingenuity.” Formed in 1987 across the bridge in Cardiff, the pair are perhaps best known for their most commercially successful track to date, ‘Born Slippy (Nuxx)’, as well as the soundtrack to the 1996 film Trainspotting.
