Peabody shines a light on LGBTQ+ lives with SpeakOUT event

SpeakOUT night of stories and discussions will kick off Pride Month at the Peabody Library in June. 3.

PEABODY, MA — The Peabody Public Library will kick off Pride Month with a SpeakOUT Boston event on June 3rd.

The night of stories and discussions will start at 7pm with speakers sharing their stories in a safe and supportive atmosphere. Topics include the meaning of Pride, representation of LGBTQ+ people in the media, the current political climate, and more.

The event is free and open to the public, with pre-registration recommended.

SpeakOUT Boston is a community of speakers and volunteers working to create a world free of bias and prejudice by telling the stories of LGBTQ+ lives. The group runs public speaking education and training programs and conducts Ask Us Anything discussions, designed to invite any questions that might challenge harmful stereotypes and misconceptions.
