Leeds United attack sees another teenager arrested by police after man leaves bleeding

A third arrest has been made following an incident at Carrow Road which left a Leeds United fan with cuts to his chin and neck on Sunday. After the full-time whistle, a 60-year-old Whites supporter reported being assaulted outside the stadium.

Three men have since been arrested and a teenager has been detained by Norfolk police on suspicion of assault and a public order offence. This teenager was questioned and then released on bail until August 13.



A statement from Norfolk Police said: “A man in his late teens has been arrested following an incident in Norwich outside Norwich Stadium (City) at the weekend. A man was arrested last night on suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct following the incident, where a man in his 60s reported being punched at around 2pm on 12 May.

“The man also suffered a cut to his chin, which is believed to have been caused by a drinks can being thrown at him. The teenager was taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Center for questioning and bailed to appear at the PIC on August 13.

“It is the third arrest after a man in his late teens was also arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault and a public order offense and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Center for questioning. He was bailed to appear at Wymondham PIC on July 13.

“Graham Riches, 50, of Dyer Close, Horsford, Norwich, was arrested and charged with assaulting an emergency worker, common assault and possession of class A drugs. He was bailed to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on June 7.”

The Leeds fan was treated by paramedics at the scene and did not require any further medical treatment.
