Teenager in hospital with serious injuries after Lisbellaw crash

A young man is in hospital with serious head and arm injuries after a crash on Tuesday.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the Tattygare Road in Lisbellaw yesterday evening, May 14. Shortly before 6.15pm a report was received of a collision involving a scrambler motorcycle and a white Hyundai Tucson.

Inspector Ross said: “Officers attended, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, who provided treatment at the scene to the driver of the scrambler vehicle, a 19-year-old man.

“He was taken to hospital a short time later for treatment for head and arm injuries. Which are believed to be serious at this time.

“The driver of the Hyundai Tucson did not require medical treatment. Tattygare Road, which was closed for a period to allow emergency services access, has now fully reopened to road users.

“Our investigation is ongoing with inquiries ongoing. Anyone with information about what happened or who has dash cam or mobile phone footage of the collision can contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1439 14/05/24.”
