Royal Enfield has trademarked the Classic 650 Twin in India and the document has now been leaked. The bike has been spotted testing several times and here’s what we know about it.

The Royal Enfield 650 Twin will get a thorough retro design with its round headlamp, wide fuel tank, bullet turn indicators and chrome all over. That said, it is expected to receive a number of modern features such as an LED headlight, a digital console and likely smartphone connectivity with the Tripper navigation pod as well.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 trademark

It is no secret that the Classic 650 Twin will share the same engine as the current Super Meteor and other middleweight bikes in the Royal Enfield portfolio. It’s a 648cc parallel twin engine that makes 47PS with 52Nm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox.

At the front, the Classic 650 Twin gets front telescopic forks and dual rear shock absorbers. Its braking functions are performed by a single disc front and rear with dual-channel ABS. These are tied to spoked wheels wrapped in road-facing tubular tires. Yes, the Classic 650 could use tube tires too.

We expect Royal Enfield to offer the Classic 650 with more options and color variants. It could be priced around Rs. 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will sit between the Interceptor and the Continental GT.
