Live as A629 New Road crash closes road in both directions

A car accident blocked a major road in both directions.

Our traffic management system Inrix says the A629 New Road in Denholme, Bradford, is partially blocked in both directions. This is causing delays and slow traffic in both directions between Old Road and Stubden Road.

It is not yet clear what exactly happened on the road. It is also not yet known if anyone has been injured, but Yorkshire Live has contacted West Yorkshire Police for comment.

“Damage Only Collision” after the road is closed

West Yorkshire Police said they were called at 8.15am to Halifax Road/Long Causeway in Bradford.

This was at a “damage only collision” involving two vehicles. No one was injured.

The road is now cleared, but details remain unclear

The road has been cleared and traffic has returned to normal, the accident has been cleared on the A629 New Road in both directions between Old Road and Stubden Rise. Notice the change in direction.

The road was initially blocked northbound.
